MONTAGES / PHOTOGRAPHS

It doesn't have to be beautiful to be beautiful.
If it's old, weathered, worn, rusted, rustic, raggedy, scuffed, sandblasted, sun-seared, scorched, crooked, peeling, grungy, dirty, imperfect, textured, tilted, scratched, dented, mussed, used, oil-stained, graffiti-marred, chipped, broken, or cracked...it's beautiful in my eyes.

Artist Statement
This all began more than 25 years ago with a love of photographing texture, line, and pure design. Antique cars, trains, and fishing boats quickly became a passion.

Computer advancements have brought everything together, enabling me to combine bits and pieces of planes, trains, automobiles and more into abstract, graphic, textured images.

I may add additional photo bits: a tattered curtain, a section of a mural, a rusty cog, peeling paint, clouded glass, etc. Then I scuff things up, blur and blend, shadow and scratch, until the colors, texture and design are, to me, pleasingly balanced and artfully designed.

Am I making order out of chaos or chaos out of order? Either way, I enjoy the hunt, the putting-together, and the presentation of items we tend to discount as trash, turning them into something I consider beautiful.

What you'll receive
Each photograph or photomontage is printed on 8½"x11" heavyweight, acid-free matte paper. The paper is a bright white and the colors really pop. Prints are made using fade-resistant pigment inks which have a lifespan of more than 100 years.

Note: The paper is 8½"x11" in size; the image is 7" on the long side to allow room for matting.

Thank you for taking an interest in my work.
